As a Qualcomm Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, creating, and modifying test cases to validate embedded software, cloud software, system algorithms, application software, automation, and specialized utility programs to launch cutting-edge, world-class products. You will collaborate across various engineering teams and functions to design and implement test plans. You should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred. Additionally, you should have at least 1 year of work or academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc., along with experience in Software Test or System Test, developing and automating test plans and tools like Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools. As a Qualcomm Software Test Engineer, your responsibilities will include applying software and systems knowledge to assist in the design, development, creation, and modification of test cases and validation of various software programs. You will design and implement basic test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures to identify failures within code areas, write functional tests for features to ensure functionality, assist in identifying and documenting software defects, collaborate with project teams to achieve objectives, and improve product quality. Additionally, you will assist in developing test case automations and scripts to enhance productivity. In this role, you will work under supervision, and your decision-making will affect your direct area of work and/or work group. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to convey basic, routine factual information. Tasks may involve multiple steps that need to be performed in various orders, requiring some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization to complete them effectively.
