Electrical Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead our plants electrical maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems in the steel industry, including HT/LT panels, PLCs, VFDs, and motors. This role requires strong leadership, quick decision-making in high-pressure situations, and strict adherence to safety and operational protocols. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and lead a team of electricians and helpers for day-to-day electrical maintenance tasks. Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance with minimal downtime. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults in panels, motors, transformers, PLC/VFD systems, and lighting/control circuits. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies and statutory safety regulations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, breakdown incidents, and spare parts usage. Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations. Train and mentor team members on technical skills, safety practices, and standard operating procedures. Monitor and manage inventory of electrical spare parts and tools; raise requisitions as needed. Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives and system improvements. Generate maintenance reports and ensure timely documentation using computer-based tools. Key Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent troubleshooting and fault-detection skills. In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems, HT/LT panels, PLCs, VFDs, motors, and plant-level equipment. Hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within the steel or heavy manufacturing industry . Proficiency in using MS Office and maintenance management software. Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills. Ability to perform under pressure and in fast-paced industrial environments.
