Duty Medical Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily Rounds & Patient Monitoring
• Conduct routine rounds in the Special Ward to assess and monitor patients' clinical condition.
• Ensure timely recording of vital signs, clinical status, and response to treatment.
• Emergency Care & First Response
• Provide immediate medical care in case of emergencies within the ward.
• Initiate life-saving procedures and stabilize patients until the specialist arrives.
• Treatment & Prescriptions
• Administer medications and carry out treatment as per the consultant's orders.
• Ensure accurate drug dosage and timely administration.
• Coordination with Consultants
• Report patient progress, complications, or changes in condition to the respective consultant.
• Assist consultants during procedures or clinical assessments when required.
• Medical Documentation
• Maintain up-to-date patient records including history, progress notes, prescriptions, and referrals.
• Ensure all documentation complies with hospital policies and medico-legal standards.
• Patient & Family Communication
• Brief patient attendants or family members about the patient’s current status, investigations, and procedures, as per consultant instructions.
• Collaboration with Nursing & Support Staff
• Work closely with nurses, lab technicians, and allied health staff to ensure holistic patient care.
• Ensure that all instructions are clearly communicated and implemented.
• Compliance with Protocols
• Follow hospital protocols, infection control measures, and patient safety guidelines.
• Participate in audits, quality checks, and compliance-related tasks.
• Shift Handover
• Ensure proper handover of clinical information and ongoing cases to the next shift DMO.
• Record critical updates and changes in condition at the time of handover.
• Support in Diagnostic Services
• Ensure timely ordering of investigations.
• Follow up on pending reports and coordinate for urgent diagnostics when necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
