Design and implement backup/recovery , high availability , and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Oracle Data Guard, SQL Server Always On Availability Groups). Perform query tuning , index optimization , and performance troubleshooting using tools such as AWR/ASH , Oracle Enterprise Manager , SQL Server Profiler , and Database Tuning Advisor . Automate routine maintenance tasks and alerts using T-SQL , PL/SQL , PowerShell , or Shell scripting . Coordinate with development teams for schema changes, deployments, and application performance troubleshooting. Apply security patches, perform DB hardening, and maintain compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, SOX). Maintain operational documentation including SOPs, runbooks, and environment topology. Participate in incident response, problem management, and change reviews as per ITIL guidelines.
