-E & I Engineer
Experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer with 10-12 years of expertise is responsible for designing, reviewing, and managing Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering/ Design activities for process plants in Oil & Gas, Power, and Mining sectors
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the electrical, instrumentation, and control scope of work across multiple projects.
- Review client specifications, contractual requirements, and scope of work for E&I systems to ensure compliance.
- Ensure engineering designs meet technical specifications and comply with international standards and project requirements.
- Prepare key project deliverables such as datasheets, bill of materials, engineering lists, and technical specifications for procurement.
- Develop electrical and instrumentation drawings in collaboration with drafting teams, including single-line diagrams, control logic, loop diagrams, termination drawings, and schematics.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers to enable independent project handling and technical growth.
- Execute LV system design, including MCCs, VFDs, cable sizing, tray loading, lighting, and lightning protection calculations.
- Prepare conceptual cable routing and layout plans to support cost-effective and efficient designs.
- Coordinate with 3D designers to develop cable tray layouts into project 3D models.
- Conduct 3D model reviews in Navisworks to ensure the accurate placement of E&I components such as cable trays, instruments, junction boxes, motors, and accessibility of these components for operation and maintenance.
- Interface with vendors to review, comment, and approve vendor quote, documents and drawings
- Support sales and proposal teams in addressing technical queries and clarifications.
- Perform special tasks as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation and Control Engineering
- With 10-12 years of professional experience in the engineering of process plants for the Oil & Gas, mining and Power industries as an E&I engineer
- Demonstrated competency in hazardous area installations and relevant industry codes and standards.
- Proficient in applying international codes and standards such as IEC, NEC, NEMA, AS/NZS, etc.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project execution and delivery processes across various phases.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to engage across culturally diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Must be able to work cross-functionally and culturally with team members at all levels across multiple departments involved in different projects
- A proven ability to think creatively in optimizing designs
- Be attentive to detail
- Must have excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to collect information, listen, and speak effectively and present information clearly and concisely with others whose first language is not English
- Must possess the ability, knowledge, skills, and experience to work with others throughout the organization
