Job Description

Sales and Profitability

  • Drive the department sales and productivity in line with category targets.
  • Optimize floor space based on merchandise availability, planogram and plotting guidelines and product sell through.
  • Track sales and report on non-selling, slow- and fast-moving products.
  • Control costs and manage NTG effectively.

Department Operations Management

  • Review and ensure the department team adheres to the defined retail SOPs, retail standards and retail processes (for the relevant department)
  • Review and ensure fixtures are handled and assets are managed as per defined norms.
  • Implement the sales promotions as per defined guidelines.
  • Review and ensure availability of non-trading items as per requirements.
  • Undertake floor walks and complete the Wooqer checklists as per the timelines.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and ensure availability of stock as per requirements through efficient stock replenishment.
  • Monitor and ensure stock is displayed according to planogram and plotting guidelines.
  • Monitor and ensure products are tagged and barcoded as per defined norms and pricing guidelines are followed.
  • Inspect merchandise for defects and report the same to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and ensure clearance of damaged and ageing merchandise as per defined norms.
  • Monitor and ensure completion of random pricing checks on products as per defined norms.
  • Execute price revisions as per defined norms.

Customer Service

  • Direct the department team to ensure adherence to the Homecentre standards of customer service (Go Home)
  • Handle customer queries and complaints effectively
  • Collate customer feedback and share with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive the team to achieve the desired NPS.

People Management

  • Provide support in induction of new recruits through buddy system.
  • Provide on the job guidance and required trainings on products, processes, sales, and customer service to the team.
  • Track implementation of EMT, Wooqer Videos, Go Home, IST TTT and SDP
  • Track and ensure that the training of showroom staff is completed as per defined norms (product knowledge, retail standards, customer service, personal grooming etc.)
  • Select the team members, set expectations, and give regular feedback to team.
  • Review and ensure that the on-roll staff are available as per defined ROTA guidelines and budgeted norms.

Manage effective deployment of staff to ensure maximum productivity

Preferred candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be a graduate having age less or equal to 35 and have 3 or more years of experience in similar role. He should be well versed with retail KPIs and should have the vision to improve the business of the store. Candidate belonging from north Bengal/ west Bengal or willing to relocate in the mentioned location are preferred.
