Data Scientist IV

As the Lead Data Scientist at Meesho, you will be a key member of the Data Science team, playing a crucial role in solving complex challenges and building intelligent systems for millions of users across various product categories. Your responsibilities will include navigating uncharted territories, discovering new solutions, and leading the team in solving unique customer problems in a rapidly evolving market. Your typical day will involve tasks such as fraud detection, inventory optimization, and platform enhancement. You will mentor a team of data scientists, assisting them in project planning, execution, and issue resolution while also collaborating with machine learning engineers and big data teams to build scalable ML pipelines and improve inference performance. In addition to owning and delivering solutions across multiple charters, you will design and optimize key user journeys by identifying user intents and behavioral patterns from large-scale data. You will continuously track and enhance model performance using state-of-the-art techniques, lead experimental design for usability improvements, and contribute to system-level thinking by enhancing internal tools and frameworks to improve team efficiency and code quality. Your role will also involve partnering with engineering teams to ensure data reliability, compliance with security guidelines, and integration of models into production systems. Furthermore, you will proactively explore new opportunities through research and academic collaboration and communicate findings, plans, and results clearly with stakeholders from various departments. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with at least 6-8 years of experience in data science and a strong track record of building and deploying ML solutions at scale. You should possess a deep understanding of core ML techniques, statistical foundations, and proficiency in Python, SQL, and data processing tools like Apache Spark and Hadoop/Hive. Experience with deep learning concepts, architectures, and practical applications, as well as strong analytical, problem-solving, and statistical skills are essential for this role. Additionally, you should be able to work closely with product and engineering teams to translate business goals into scalable ML or data solutions. Bonus points will be awarded for experience with reinforcement learning, sequence modeling techniques, and contributions to ML libraries or research publications.
