Job Description

As a Critical Facilities Engineer at Equinix, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the mechanical infrastructure and facilities of our data centers. Your responsibilities will include conducting preventative maintenance, responding to alarms, coordinating with vendors, performing site administration tasks, and supporting incident response efforts. Your day-to-day tasks will involve performing maintenance checks, repairs, and installations on critical facility components, monitoring the Building Monitoring System (BMS), and assisting senior staff with higher-level repairs. You will also be responsible for coordinating with vendors to ensure maintenance activities are carried out according to Equinix's standards and supporting the work order approval process. In addition to your maintenance duties, you will be involved in site administration tasks such as maintaining site logs for permits and following operating procedures. You will also be responsible for completing work orders, troubleshooting office equipment, and collaborating with team members to resolve facility incidents and support infrastructure projects. To excel in this role, you should have 1-2 years of experience in the data center industry or be open to fresh graduates. A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required, along with a willingness to work on rotating shifts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
