As a System Engineer II at Oracle, you will be working directly with Oracle Cerner customers, providing support for various Mainframe Sysplex and LPARs that host hospital environments and regions. Your role will involve managing Batch, Console, and Subsystem activities, monitoring systems, and executing critical tasks like IPLs, clock changes, disaster recovery (DR) exercises, and maintenance events. Additionally, you will be responsible for responding to real-time system alerts (WTORs) and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely issue resolution and adherence to customer SLAs. Your contribution will also include handling ad-hoc production requests, driving continuous process improvements, and supporting automation initiatives. Your responsibilities as a System Engineer II at Oracle will include: - Performing day-to-day maintenance of Mainframe systems for Oracle Cerner Customers, supporting various LPARs/hospitals and working on job scheduling tools. - Executing IPL, Console Monitoring, Clock Change, DR activities, and addressing Batch Job abends within the defined SLAs. - Ensuring timely response to WTORs/outstanding responses and conducting periodic system checks to maintain system availability for customers. - Supporting ad-hoc requests such as Running, Canceling & Holding Production/Test jobs and managing CICS/DB2 subsystems in coordination with Systems Programmers and Application Teams. - Engaging in on-call duties for timely issue mitigation as per the SLAs. - Working in rotational shifts to provide continuous support. Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field. - 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting skills including JCLs, Spool, CICS/DB2, Tape Issues, and Console Messages. - Proficiency in Mainframe batch and console operations, as well as job scheduling tools like CA7/Control-M/Zeke/OPC/ESP. - Monitoring Operating System thresholds such as memory utilization, CPU utilization, and Spool utilization. - Strong problem-solving abilities for JCL abends and related issues. - Experience in identifying and implementing automation and process improvement opportunities. - Effective documentation, risk identification, and communication skills. - Excellent customer-facing, written, and verbal communication skills. - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities. Reporting to the OPS Manager as part of the Mainframe Operations team, you will be responsible for delivering a highly client-focused support service in a shared/dedicated support environment. Your goal is to exceed client expectations in both technical resolution and customer service. You will be supporting Mission Critical infrastructure for Ensono's clients, providing a responsive and exceptional support service by resolving complex technical client incidents and problems. As a key member of the team providing Mainframe Operations support for system and customer batch processing, your responsibilities will include system and online monitoring, batch ABEND & recovery, and system restarts. Long-term objectives will focus on developing the skills and experience necessary for you to advance in your chosen career path. **Required Skills:** - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Mainframe Operations. - Strong knowledge of Mainframe Operations including Batch monitoring, Console Operations, Ad hoc job Scheduling, and IPL Activities. - Experience with Scheduling tools such as OPC, CA7, ZEKE, Control-M, or ESP for Production/Batch Monitoring. - Proficiency in Console Operations and experience in complex Sysplex environments. - Ability to provide 2nd Level support for System and online monitoring, batch ABEND & recovery, and system restarts. - Solid understanding of MVS, VTAM, JCL, IPL, HMC Concepts, TSO, JES2, CICS, TAPE, and SDSF. - Familiarity with ITIL processes including Problem/Incident/Change management. - Willingness to work in 24x7 environments. **To operate effectively as an Operations Technician, you will:** - Check each system for outstanding messages and batch abends regularly. - Scan batch output to identify the actual cause of failure. - Push critical batch jobs to meet SLAs. - Understand and execute customers" documented procedures. - Identify tasks or issues that can be improved and escalate them to the correct team. - Quickly determine the severity of a problem and make appropriate escalations. - Run Client Batch Schedules, triage job errors, and user situations. - Monitor Batch/Systems/Alerts, Start and Stop Subsystems, Create/manage Incident & Request tickets. - Provide client reporting for Batch processes, Ad hoc job Scheduling, Printing Support, Schedule restores, Project work, Break-fix support, and Application Startup/Shutdown. **Soft Skills:** - Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills. - Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented, and constantly changing environment. - Effective communication with all levels of the organization and the ability to work independently. - Support and assist senior team members in correcting production incidents. - Strong technical writing and documentation skills with a commitment to documenting all work performed. **Primary Location City:** Pune / Chennai,
