Cloud Engineer Cloud Database Migration Specialist

The position of Cloud Engineer - Cloud Database Migration Specialist at our Service Based Company requires a skilled professional with expertise in Azure cloud migration, cloud migration tools, and extensive experience in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server database administration. As the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for leading the migration of on-premises databases to Azure, optimizing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring smooth transitions. Your key responsibilities will include planning and executing migrations of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server databases to Azure. You will be expected to leverage cloud native services/tools, open-source tools, and develop custom tools for large-scale data migrations. Additionally, you will design and implement database migrations with minimal downtime while ensuring data integrity checks. Performance tuning, backups, recovery, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve migration issues will also be part of your role. To qualify for this position, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Azure cloud migration, proficiency in Oracle, Postgres, and MS SQL Server DBA tasks, and a strong understanding of database architecture and automation tools. Expertise in terraform and Azure certification would be preferred. This is a contractual/temporary job with a duration of 6 months.
