Cloud Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Title : Cloud Database Administrator (DBA)

Location : Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore

Experience : 0-3

Job Summary

The Cloud DBA is responsible for managing cloud-based database systems, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. This role supports both operational and development teams in database-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain cloud databases (RDS, Cloud SQL, Cosmos DB, DynamoDB).
Monitor database performance and optimize queries and indexes.
Implement backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
Manage database access controls and security policies.
Perform data migrations and upgrades.
Automate routine DBA tasks using cloud-native tools and scripts.
Collaborate with developers to support application database needs.

Required Skills

Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
Knowledge of database replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Stack driver).
Scripting skills (Python, Shell, PowerShell).

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
3+ years of experience in database administration, preferably in cloud environments.
Cloud and database certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) are desirable.
