Chief City Planner

GIFTCL invites applications for the position of Chief City Planner (on contract) (in the grade of Senior Vice President or above). The remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

The candidate should have done masters in urban planning / Town Planning or equivalent, with minimum 20 years of experience in the field of urban planning, town planning, master plan development liaison activities. The detailed job description is as under,

• To lead a team of professionals working on high-end urban projects involving land use planning, urban infrastructure and regulatory process.
• To ensure grant of development permissions, occupancy certificates and issues relating to development control regulations of GIFT Urban Development authority.
• Drafting legislation and government policies on settlement planning and development
• To review various development options of GIFT Development Plan as per regulatory provisions.
• To guide and co-ordinate with team of professionals of GIFTCL/ Consultants/ Developers.
• To prepare Master Plan/ Development Plan / Town Planning scheme, DCRs and guidelines for development and modifications required thereafter.
• Co-ordination with Government offices, SEZ committees, consultants, proof check consultants, architects, MEPF engineers and statutory authorities.
• Candidates who have international experience / exposure / knowledge would be desirable.

Competencies Required

• Hands-on experience in state of art urban planning projects or city level projects.
• Candidate should have an ability to conceive Master Plan for City Development with detailing of areas for SEZ, DTA, Industrial Park, Group Housing, social facilities, infrastructure networks.
• Candidate is expected to be well versed with different Development Control Regulations, related Town Planning Acts, Environment Act, National Building Code, NFPA guidelines.
• Candidate should be familiar with Autocad, GIS, sketch up, Revit, photoshop as well as exposure to the latest software is expected.
• Candidate should be familiar with the latest techniques and methods in urban planning.
• Candidate should have knowledge of infrastructure planning, building services, firefighting, IBMS, water supply, sewage, air-conditioning and knowledge of regulations related to services.
• Candidate should have an understanding of Site Development and implementation.
• Candidate should have knowledge of formulation of Town Planning Scheme.
• Strong Presentation skills
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Able to read, write and communicate in Gujarati
