Job Summary:

Chemical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of API production processes and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  
• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for the production of APIs.
  
• Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements to increase yield and reduce costs.
  
• Participate in scale-up and tech transfer of new molecules from R&D to production.
  
• Develop and review batch manufacturing records (BMRs), SOPs, and validation protocols.
  
• Collaborate with Quality, R&D, EHS, and Maintenance departments to ensure seamless operations.
  
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, EHS, and other regulatory guidelines.
  
• Support audits by regulatory bodies and customers.
  
• Maintain documentation as per regulatory and company requirements.
  
• Train and mentor plant operators and junior engineers.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering.
  
• 6 -10 years of experience in API or pharmaceutical chemical manufacturing.
  
• Strong understanding of chemical unit operations (e.g., distillation, crystallization, filtration, drying).
  
• Knowledge of cGMP, ICH, and FDA regulations.
  
• Experience with process safety management, HAZOP, and risk assessments.
  
• Proficiency in using chemical process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, ChemCAD) is a plus.
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  
• Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.
