As a Hitachi Energy PQS Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for executing full-cycle project engineering tasks related to designing MACH hardware control and protection systems, IED-based conventional control protection systems, configuration & testing of protection systems, and auxiliary AC & DC system design. Your innovative and reliable solutions will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects within budget and meeting key performance indicators. You will design and execute projects in accordance with customer specifications, FACTS standards, and global standards such as IEC, ANSI, and IEEE. Your responsibilities will include preparing designs for MACH-based control and protection system cubicles, IED-based control and protection system cubicles, and FACTS plant design drawings. Additionally, you will design and estimate auxiliary AC & DC power requirements, LV/MV switchboards, battery systems, UPS, voltage stabilizers, and cables for power, control, communication, and indication purposes. Collaboration with other departments such as Mechanical, Control, System Design, and Commissioning will be essential for the successful completion of projects. You will also be involved in validating project schedules, reviewing vendor drawings, evaluating sub-suppliers, participating in customer FAT, providing site and commissioning support, and preparing As-Built Drawings. Ensuring compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines will be a key aspect of your role. To excel in this position, you should have 6-10 years of experience in substation secondary/EPC design or project execution, HVDC control & protection hardware design, and a strong attention to detail. Valuable experience in control and protection cubicle design, secondary engineering, EPC execution, and the electrical grid industry will be beneficial. Proficiency in tools like E3 design tool, MS Office (Word, Excel), and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role. The Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer position involves providing engineering support for systems and electrical/instrumentation equipment in Direct Reduction plants and new technology initiatives. You will be responsible for supporting or leading E&I plant commissioning and startup activities as needed. As an Electrical/Instrumentation (E/I) Engineer, you may serve as an E/I discipline Support Engineer or, with sufficient experience, be designated as an E/I discipline Lead Engineer. Your role will involve offering technical assistance for various projects and initiatives assigned by the Chief Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering. While you will not have direct reports, you may be required to collaborate independently with designers or other engineers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of work products. Your key responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating strong expertise in Instrumentation and electrical engineering. - Developing various documents such as P&ID, IO list, instrument list, manual & valve list, instrument datasheet, instrument hook-ups, isometric drawings, electrical HT/LT panel design inputs, HT/LT panel vendors drawing checking, HT/LT motor, HT/LT VFD, illumination, earthing, cable engineering, cable routing, cable termination, and PLC drawing. - Applying principles and practices of electrical engineering, including conducting system analyses and designs with guidance from a Senior Electrical Engineer when necessary. - Collaborating with Process Engineering and other disciplines on the development of Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs). - Maintaining the instrument list associated with the P&IDs. - Developing logic drawings (E9s) and device location drawings (E5 and E6s) based on various data points. - Designing and configuring the Process Control System (DCS) and providing detailed specifications for hardware and software. - Overseeing E/I design efforts as the Lead E/I Engineer for specific projects, including directing engineers and designers, reviewing drawings and calculations, developing specifications, ensuring engineering deliverables adhere to the schedule, reviewing purchasing quotations, vendor drawings, and QA documents, and incorporating relevant E/I information from vendor documentation into the detailed design. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful implementation of electrical and instrumentation systems in Direct Reduction plants and technology projects. Your expertise and attention to detail will be instrumental in achieving project goals and meeting quality standards.,

Job Requirements Delivery submarine cable engineering for specified projects, including wind farm layout, cable routing, cable sizing, development of technical documentation and decisions, review and assurance activities. Review, comment, and approve design documentation, quality plans and other procedures as appropriate. Technical assurance of suppliers engineering scope, ensuring that the work meets bp and project requirements. Integration and management of interfaces between the submarine cable suppliers and the rest of the project Provide engineering support to electrical system design for specified projects during concept development and pre-bid. Support will include developing wind farm electrical system design, cable layouts and sizing. Identify and manage key engineering and delivery risks and provide input to project risk management and mitigation action plans. Demonstrate good safe work practices and be proactive in ensuring safe practices at all times including a strong influence role with suppliers. Identify Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) risks and communicate as appropriate Working with procurement, supporting the supplier selection and award process for submarine cables. Support tender clarification/evaluation and contractor/vendor selection, ensuring all activities are in accordance with bps Code of Conduct. Build strong working relationships with the key suppliers. Help develop the wider supply chain of HV cable manufacturers – AVL status, audits and supplier management. Part of a global engineering and delivery team, sharing lessons and collaborating across Projects. Provide technical mentoring to junior members of the team. Work Experience Bachelors’ Degree or higher qualification in an engineering discipline. 5+ years experience working with submarine / subsea power cables 3+ years experience working with Offshore Wind. In depth working knowledge of HV submarine cable design, manufacture and installation. In depth working knowledge of offshore wind farm electrical cable system design. Good interpersonal and communication skills In-depth knowledge of good engineering practice
