Background Verification Officer( Overseas Education)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Background Verification Officer with prior experience in the overseas education sector. The candidate will be responsible for verifying academic documents, financial records, identity details, and other credentials submitted by students applying to international universities. The role ensures the authenticity of student records to maintain compliance and uphold institutional and visa requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify academic transcripts, degree certificates, and language proficiency scores (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, etc.).
• Cross-check financial documents such as bank statements, sponsorship letters, and affidavits.
• Confirm identity details including passports, national IDs, and address proofs.
• Liaise with universities, educational boards, and credential evaluation agencies for authentication.
• Conduct third-party checks for employment history and references when required.
• Maintain accurate records of all verifications conducted and flagged discrepancies.
• Collaborate with counseling and admissions teams to provide updates on document status.
• Stay updated with verification protocols for top study destinations (e.g., Canada, UK, USA, Australia).
• Assist in preparing verification reports for embassy/visa applications or partner institutions.
• Ensure adherence to GDPR, data privacy, and confidentiality standards.
• Handle escalations related to fraudulent documents or suspicious activities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
