AVP Head of Technology Delivery for Corporate Technology

The Corporate Technology Delivery Head at MetLife plays a crucial role in driving digital technology strategies for key corporate functions within MetLife, including Finance, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Legal, Human Resources, Employee Experience, Risk, Treasury, Audit, and Compliance. The vision is to create innovative and transformative technology solutions to empower leaders and employees to focus on customer needs. As part of the Tech Talent Transformation agenda, a Technology Center is being established in India to operate in an integrated manner between onshore, offshore, and strategic vendor partners using an Agile delivery model. The ideal candidate for this senior leadership position should possess a strong blend of strategic oversight and hands-on technical leadership. Responsibilities include architecting solutions, leading technical teams, driving technology and talent transformation, managing strategic tech platforms, overseeing technology organization in India, and collaborating with business leaders to deliver seamless technology experiences. Furthermore, the Corporate Technology Delivery Head will drive technology transformation initiatives, specifically focusing on changing the way technology resources work, such as developers, SREs, and QAs, in alignment with Agile methodologies. The role involves strategic thinking, effective communication, and expertise in technological development. Key responsibilities include driving corporate technology strategy, leading technology teams in India, building strategic relationships, developing technology roadmaps, managing high-priority initiatives, providing thought leadership in business application software solutions, recruiting and nurturing high-performing teams, promoting innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring project delivery quality, fostering diversity and inclusivity, and driving financial management. In terms of qualifications, the ideal candidate should have a Bachelors/master's degree in computer science or equivalent engineering degree, proven experience in managing enterprise-wide systems, at least 10 years of experience leading large-scale technology organizations, and a minimum of 18-20 years of experience in leading software applications delivery in regulated environments. Technical expertise in application development, cloud, data, DevSecOps, and AI domains is essential, along with experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Certifications in Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, SAFE, or Agile/Scrum are preferred. Personal characteristics should include business acumen, self-motivation, attention to detail, collaboration, decisiveness, supportiveness, passion, professionalism, and accountability.
