What IT Quality Control contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Quality Control analyzes and inspects Information Technology products and processes for compliance to internal and external specifications and standards. This job family collaborates with IT Project Management, Business Integration, and Application Development & Maintenance teams, among others, during implementation and integration projects to proactively identify compliance requirements and risks. Quality Control also conducts regular audits and develops and communicates new quality control procedures for the function.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Test Automation Architect who can lead and drive innovation and transformation for our Test Management office(TMO). This person is expected to work hand in hand with the CoE Lead and drive Quality Assurance (QA) Automation transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in QA transformation, automation, performance testing, security testing, API testing, mobile application testing, and a deep understanding of modern QA tools, technologies, and AI-driven testing tools (GenAI).

Key Responsibilities:

Test Architect Leadership:

• Lead, Design and Implement a comprehensive QA transformation roadmap to align testing processes with organizational goals.
• Drive innovation by introducing industry best practices, frameworks, and emerging QA technologies, including AI-driven testing solutions.
• Excellent customer management and people management skills

Automation & Tooling:

• Architect and implement scalable test automation frameworks for functional, performance, and regression testing.
• Lead the adoption of modern QA tools for CI/CD pipelines, API testing, mobile testing, security testing, and GenAI-based testing tools.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of QA tools, AI-driven solutions, and automation pipelines.
• Lead technical reviews of test automation code and architecture.

AI-Driven Testing:

• Leverage GenAI-based tools to optimize test case generation, data creation, and defect prediction.
• Drive innovation by introducing AI/ML-powered frameworks for smarter and faster test execution.
• Identify and implement tools that utilize natural language processing (NLP) for test scripting and result interpretation.

Performance & Security Testing:

• Define and execute comprehensive performance testing strategies to ensure system reliability and scalability under various conditions.
• Lead security testing initiatives, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, to ensure robust security practices.

API & Mobile Application Testing:

• Build and enhance testing strategies for API testing using modern tools like Postman, Swagger, and RestAssured.
• Design mobile application testing frameworks, ensuring optimal quality for both iOS and Android platforms.

Qualifications:

• BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field. Advance Degree preferred
• Bachelors degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a software-related discipline.
• 10+ years as a software automation tester, with at least 5 years in QA leadership role.
• Proven expertise in QA transformation initiatives and building high-performing QA teams.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Automation Tools: Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.
• Performance Testing Tools: JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, etc.
• Security Testing: OWASP, Burp Suite, ZAP, etc.
• API Testing Tools: Postman, Swagger, RestAssured, etc.
• Mobile Testing: Appium, Espresso, XCTest, etc.
• AI/GenAI Tools: Experience with Microsoft Co-Pilot, Testsigma, Functionize, Testim.io, or similar AI-driven testing tools.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Browser Stack).

Desired Skills:

• Structured and influential communicator: verbally, in written documentation and in presentations
• Experience of working with different platforms Mobile, Web applications and API
• Hands on experience in automated testing of API, web applications & mobile applications using Selenium Appium.
• Possess good analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD pipeline tools is a plus
• Exposure to Mobile Applications, eCommerce and healthcare domain Testing is a plus
• Exposure to Katalon is a plus
• Solid experience (5+ years) in driving complex test strategy formulation and execution, particularly in a multiple technology domain such as E-commerce/CRM/ERP rollouts.
• Proven hands-on experience with end-to-end test execution, including SIT, UAT, and Smoke Tests.
• Exposure to both manual and automated test execution methods, including experience in driving test automation initiatives.
• Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment and with Agile Release Trains is highly preferred.
• Ability to functionally manage Test Leads and Test Engineers, guiding them through testing phases while maintaining accountability for the overall test process.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Certifications in Software Testing (e.g., ISTQB, SAFe) are a plus.
