Department: Research & Development / Powertrain Engineering Job Summary: We're seeking a skilled 2-Wheeler Engine Calibration Engineer to optimize the performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions. This role involves hands-on calibration, rigorous testing, and close collaboration with engineering teams to ensure our engines meet global standards and exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: Engine Calibration: Develop and refine ECU calibrations for fuel injection, ignition timing, throttle control, and other parameters to achieve optimal power, torque, fuel economy, and driveability. Emissions & OBD: Ensure full compliance with global emission regulations (e.g., Euro, Bharat Stage) and calibrate On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) functions. Testing & Validation: Conduct comprehensive engine dynamometer and in-vehicle testing to validate calibrations, analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and ensure robust performance across various conditions. Collaboration & Documentation: Work cross-functionally with design, software, and homologation teams. Prepare detailed technical reports and maintain thorough documentation of calibration processes and results. Required Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering. Experience: 2+ years of experience in engine calibration, preferably with 2-wheeler internal combustion engines. Hands-on experience with dyno and in-vehicle testing is essential. Technical Proficiency: Proficient with engine calibration tools (e.g., ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, CANape). Strong understanding of Engine Management Systems (EMS) and control strategies. Familiarity with data acquisition and analysis tools Knowledge of global emission norms (e.g., Bharat Stage, Euro standards). Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
