Key Responsibilities & DutiesTechnical Oversight
- Review and validate MEP design documentation, drawings, specifications, and load calculations to ensure technical accuracy and constructability within fit-out constraints
- Perform detailed technical analysis of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems proposed for fit-out projects
- Develop comprehensive MEP technical specifications aligned with project requirements, client expectations, and regulatory standards
- Identify potential MEP system conflicts and integration challenges early in the design phase, proposing effective technical solutions
- Conduct thorough MEP site surveys to assess existing conditions and infrastructure limitations
- Provide expert technical guidance on equipment selection, system design optimization, and energy efficiency strategies
- Lead MEP coordination meetings to resolve spatial conflicts and integration issues between different building systems
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP installations, ensuring full functionality and compliance
Project Management
- Manage the MEP component of multiple concurrent fit-out projects throughout their entire lifecycle
- Develop detailed MEP execution schedules, resource plans, and budget requirements
- Monitor and control MEP-related costs, ensuring adherence to established budgets
- Identify, assess, and mitigate MEP-specific risks that could impact project delivery
- Prepare accurate technical submittals and procurement documentation for MEP equipment and materials
- Coordinate with suppliers and specialists to ensure timely delivery of critical MEP components
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify MEP installation quality and progress
- Generate comprehensive technical reports documenting MEP system performance and project status
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary technical MEP advisor during client consultations and progress meetings
- Translate complex MEP requirements and concepts into clear, understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders
- Lead technical discussions regarding MEP system options, limitations, and optimization possibilities
- Negotiate realistic timelines and technical parameters with clients based on project constraints
- Address and resolve client concerns related to MEP systems promptly and efficiently
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key client technical representatives
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor a team of MEP coordinators, engineers, and technical specialists
- Allocate technical resources effectively across multiple projects based on complexity and requirements
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to team members
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify professional development opportunities for team members

- 6-8 years of progressive experience specifically in MEP coordination for commercial fit-out projects
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex MEP renovations within occupied buildings
- Proven track record of successfully delivering MEP systems for diverse project types (retail, corporate offices, hospitality)
- Experience resolving technical MEP challenges in heritage or challenging existing buildings
- Background in value engineering and cost optimization for MEP systems
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and utility requirements
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders including landlords, tenants, and facilities teams
Reporting Structure- Reports directly to: Technical Director / Head of MEP Services
- Supervises: MEP Coordinators, MEP Engineers, Technical Specialists, and Site Supervisors
