Apparel Designer

As an Apparel Designer at our premium fashion brand based in Gurgaon, India, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative apparel collections that resonate with our brand's aesthetics and market positioning. With 3-8 years of experience in apparel design, preferably in the luxury fashion industry, you should possess a strong understanding of luxury fashion trends, textiles, and garment construction. Your responsibilities will include researching and creating design concepts for seasonal collections, developing mood boards, sketches, and tech packs for new designs, and collaborating with merchandising and trend teams to ensure alignment with market demand. It will be essential for you to source high-quality fabrics, trims, and accessories, as well as work on technical sketches and tech packs for production, ensuring correct fit and construction through collaboration with pattern makers and sampling teams. Staying updated on global and local fashion trends, consumer preferences, and competitor strategies will be a part of your routine, along with attending fashion shows, trade fairs, and exhibitions to gather industry insights. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, merchandising, and sales for campaign shoots and launch strategies, contributing to branding elements like packaging, brand storytelling, and visual merchandising. To excel in this role, you should have strong sketching skills (both hand-drawn and digital using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop), expertise in garment construction, pattern making, and draping, as well as knowledge of fabric science, dyeing techniques, and sustainable practices. Your trend forecasting and storytelling abilities, coupled with excellent communication and presentation skills, will be instrumental in your success in this fast-paced environment.
