Job Title: Sports Equipment & Apparel Designer Location: Chennai Department: Product Design & Innovation Experience Level: Minimum 2 Years as a Sports Equipment & Apparel designer Role Overview Were looking for a performance-driven Sports Equipment & Apparel Designer to create innovative, athlete-first products that support performance, recovery, and lifestyleacross cricket, football, running, and general fitness. From high-performance gear to fan merchandise, your work will fuel the spirit of sport, movement, and innovation. Key Responsibilities Apparel Design Conceptualize and design performance-led apparel for training, competition, and recovery. Develop full collections, including teamwear, base layers, warm-ups, lifestyle athleisure, and fan merchandise. Work with high-performance fabrics, trims, and construction techniques. Create detailed tech packs, pattern layouts, fit specs, and construction guides for production. Collaborate closely with sourcing and production teams on sampling, material testing, and vendor development. Sports Equipment Design Design functional sports accessories and gearbags, gloves, protective guards, compression apparel, sleeves, headbands, and custom-fit equipment. Partner with athletes, coaches, and category managers to gather performance insights and translate them into impactful design. Prototyping & Digital Workflows Use tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhino, SolidWorks, KeyShot, CLO3D (or equivalents) to develop 2D and 3D concepts. Rapidly prototype and visualize products across sizes, usage scenarios, and motion profiles. Engage with internal labs and external vendors to fine-tune samples, trims, and detailing. What We're Looking For Degree/Diploma in Apparel Design, Product Design, or Industrial Design. 26 years of experience in sportswear, activewear, or sports equipment design. Strong understanding of technical construction, performance materials, and functional aesthetics. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and at least one 3D design software. You’re the Right Fit If You: Design with movement in mind—your sketches account for speed, sweat, and split-second agility. Love building from concept to execution across apparel and gear. Are passionate about sport, obsessed with detail, and prototype unconventional ideas. Thrive in a builder’s culture—self-starting, collaborative, and always in pursuit of better.
