The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: Job Description Support the Design & Development activities related to various Large, Medium and Small Gas Turbine Aeroengines. Expertise/Experience include working on Aircraft (Aero / Land & Marine Engines Added advantage) Conceptual Design to Detailed Structures/Rotor designs (High Pressure Compressor & Turbine) Familiarity with Fan and Booster Module, High Pressure Compressor (rotor/stator), Combustor Module, Turbine (HPT and LPT for rotor/stator) Strong hands-on mechanical design, responsible for reviewing and approving the technical approach of engineering projects to ensure compliance with aviation/aerospace design practices and requirements Working in a significantly challenging work environment. Typical Activities expected to be performed: Design & Development of Aero / Marine Engine Components / Sub-assemblies / assemblies Full ownership of component design start from DCR, CDR, PDR, DDR and until drawing release Requirement Analysis & Concept Generation DFMEA Trade off Matrix Mechanical Hand Calculations (Good understanding of the Life calculation of the Component) Engineering productivity (Re-Engineering, Alternate material) Service productivity Product performance Management Non-Conformance Management Static & Dynamic Analysis GD & T and Stack up Analysis Technically lead a project with a group of multi discipline engineers (Mech Design, Thermal design, Stress, Production Definition, etc.) Essential Skills: A proactive, energetic individual with: In-depth knowledge of gas turbine aeroengines, engine components and their function. In-depth understanding of gas turbine fundamentals. In-depth understanding of design/practices of aero engine components In-depth knowledge on part drawing reading and GD&T concepts. In-depth knowledge on working of various engine systems e.g., oil, fuel, air, bleed etc. Knowledge of manufacturing process/techniques. Knowledge in engine assembly / disassembly and build shop. Understanding of various delivery excellence and quality control systems. Required Qualifications: Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering specialization with strong academic track record. Minimum of 15 years of experience in Aviation Engines / Turbomachinery / Aircraft product and Customer support Engineering, Design or Repair activities. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally. Strong time management skills. Proactive and able to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment. Able to make quick decisions. Able to take calculated risks. Promote the culture of Accountability, Change Championship, Teamwork and Customer Focus. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills and Global Mindset. Required tools: Good knowledge on modelling tools like Unigraphics Good knowledge on FE Analysis tools like Ansys Good hands-on experience in using MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and similar tools), Adobe. Job Description Summary Engine Dynamics is a critical domain for aircraft engines as it impacts the entire product life cycle of the engine, starting with conceptual design through product design/certification and field support. The main purpose of the engine dynamics team is to develop a rotor dynamically stable engine ensuring safety & reliability while finding an optimal balance between performance, weight & cost. This team is critical to realizing GE Aerospaces noble vision in developing next generation RISE (Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engine) engines. The main responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, leading multiple project teams to solve business critical problems by performing accurate rotordynamic analyses serving internal/external customers, lead/provide inputs towards technology maturation, champion advancement of state of the art in predictive methods and drive collaboration across multiple teams, organizations & global sites to share knowledge base. Develop new repairs for commercial engine components by utilizing conventional or innovative repair techniques. Evaluate engine component damages reported by customer/airline to develop repair schemes and coordinate with engine manufactures for timely approval of repair schemes. Co-ordination with other disciplines like IPT leads, Structures, Design, Metallurgy, Standard Practices and Customer Technical Support in evaluating the repair technical data. Performing quality checks to improve the quality of the product within on-time schedule with first time acceptance and customer satisfaction. SKILLS / COMPETENCE: Must have: 5 - 7 Years of experience in repair development engineering A good team player, people leader who can work well under pressure or in stressful and demanding situations or environments. Well aware of Aircraft /Aero Engine components and functional details along with their operation procedures. Good at understanding in various repair processes (e.g Machining, Thermal spray coating/plating, Welding, Paint, NDT & Cleaning) & Engineering drawings. Having good knowledge on GD&T and ASME Y14.5 1994 standards. Effective communicator and should have the ability to lead client discussions with all stakeholders on Technical subject related and take decisions accordingly. Competent in MS office applications.
