Role & responsibilities Reads the request form, check all patient information like name, age, history & checks that the investigation ordered & Billing is clear Checks that the investigation ordered is in RIS. Appraises the patient on nature of investigation. Informs the patient relative/ nurse/ attendant to be in waiting area till the investigation is done Prepares the patient (if required) before conducting the X-ray/ Fluoroscopy study, positions the patient and the X-ray tube as required. Uses the correct film size & set the appropriate exposure factor KVp ,mAs Places the identification maker on the cassette (for portable x-ray) Exposes the film & Process the film and take a print out in case of computerized radiography/ digital radiography. Transfers the images to PACS Assess radiographic anatomy & assess for overall density & contrast level. Puts barcode on the film and the folder & puts the film in the right folder Gives the film to the radiologists for reporting/ to the patient/ floor/ dispatch room, as the case may be & make appropriate entries in the RIS. Carries the portable x-ray apparatus and take radiographs of seriously ill patients across the hospital. Preferred candidate profile Candidate must be Diploma in Radiology or B.SC in Radiology.
