Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills Fluent with English, both verbal and written communication Ability to identify and develop strong working relationship. Flexibility to work in shifts based on business requirement. The role expects effective People, Process and Client management.

Our Confirmations team services global clients for FX, Emission, Metals, Rates and Credit derivatives products. You will process daily confirmations related activities of the team. You will be responsible to ensure that all tasks assigned to the team are done accurately and all the exceptions items are followed up to resolution. You will also facilitate projects, group initiatives and exception processing resolution. Our team of experts will be there to coach and support your development to ensure you excel in this role. What You'll Do As our Rates and Boundary Manager you will be someone to head a team responsible for conducting end-to-end research on tax rates, boundaries, and compliance filing data. Your work will help Avalara's customers to navigate the complex landscape of global tax calculation and reporting. What Your Responsibilities Will Be Lead and inspire a team of experienced indirect tax researchers focused on rates, boundaries, and compliance filing data Oversee the research and interpretation of rates, filing requirements, and boundary shapefiles Collaborate with product, tax research, and engineering teams to deliver accurate, applicable insights Manage projects to grow research operations following Avalara's growth Help shape the future of tax compliance automation through research and technology integration What You'll Need to be Successful Manipulate and process boundary shape files and complex tax rate data Manage teams, including resource allocation, workload balancing, and giving/receiving constructive feedback A natural curiosity about technology and an interest in innovation and learning about new areas of transaction taxes A bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent, in finance, economics, business administration, or accounting with 6+ years of experience processing and manipulating boundary shapefiles. A master's in Geographic Info Systems may be substituted for 3 years of experience. Excellent research skills, including a logical, creative, and detailed approach to drilling down to specific data to surface information that is important to the accuracy of the published content. You will have 2+ years of tax technology experience, specifically with boundary data
