As the Workday Benefits consultant, your primary focus will be on configuring and optimizing the benefits module within Workday. In this role, you will act as the functional owner/architect and subject matter expert (SME) for benefits, providing strategic oversight, technical leadership, and operational support. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions that enhance efficiency, improve employee experience, and support business growth. This will involve driving system improvements, automating processes, testing, and providing operational support. You will be responsible for owning the Workday benefits module, which includes overseeing benefits configuration and implementation. This entails configuring and maintaining benefits plans (such as health, dental, vision, retirement, etc.) within Workday based on specific requirements. You will also configure eligibility rules, open enrollment processes, and manage life event changes (e.g., marriage, birth) to ensure that employees can easily make benefits selections and manage their choices through Workday. Additionally, you will set up and manage open enrollment periods, workflows, and configurations, providing guidance to employees during open enrollment to help them make informed decisions about their benefits. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with benefits vendors and insurance carriers to ensure smooth data integration and resolve any issues related to benefits administration. Collaborating with business stakeholders, you will develop a Workday benefits module optimization roadmap by understanding pain points, prioritizing requirements, and identifying opportunities to enhance process efficiency and scalability. Utilizing your expertise, you will lead efforts to deliver complex initiatives, projects, and module enhancements identified in the optimization roadmap. You will also be responsible for managing module-specific sprint planning and deliverables, as well as overseeing half-yearly Workday release enhancements. In addition, you will manage and triage service tickets for all benefits-related issues, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives, ensuring that all tickets are properly documented, prioritized, and resolved in a timely manner. You will serve as the go-to person for Workday benefits inquiries and provide training to benefits partners, managers, and other stakeholders on effectively utilizing the benefits module in Workday. Furthermore, you will lead testing efforts within P&C Systems to ensure smooth user acceptance testing (UAT) and Integrated testing, staying up to date with Workday updates, releases, and industry best practices to enhance system capabilities. As a mentor, you will guide and support junior colleagues in their roles related to configuration and testing. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 6 to 9 years of Workday experience with expertise in Workday Benefits is required, along with being Workday Pro Benefits certified.
