As a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer at Poshmark, you will play a crucial role in expanding our Core Platform and driving engagement and personalization initiatives. You will be part of a dynamic team managing a high-traffic social marketplace and leveraging cloud-based technologies to cater to our rapidly growing user base. Your responsibilities will include developing applications and service delivery platforms on a distributed cloud architecture, utilizing technologies such as NoSQL, Queueing, and Search infrastructure. You will design and implement new product features with a data-oriented approach and enhance core components of the Poshmark product and cloud platform to ensure seamless e-commerce transactions. Collaboration with SRE and platform teams will be key in directly impacting business growth. In the first 6 months of your role, you will focus on familiarizing yourself with Poshmark's codebase and infrastructure, contributing to feature development through quality and testable code, and establishing effective collaboration within the team and across departments. By the end of 12+ months, you will be expected to independently drive feature development and propose ideas or changes to enhance the codebase. To excel in this role, you should have a strong computer science foundation with expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software design, along with over 4 years of relevant software engineering experience. Proficiency in Ruby/Java, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, and cloud providers (such as AWS) is required. Experience in designing and developing microservices, creating web-based APIs and REST APIs, and understanding scalability and performance issues across application tiers are also essential. Bonus points for experience with NoSQL data solutions. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
