Your role will involve designing and configuring IP Network, WAN, and LAN free (SAN) based data backup solutions. You should be well-versed in data protection and backup recovery methodologies, such as virtual tape, disk to disk to tape, and data replication. Furthermore, you will be expected to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Database Backups for Oracle, SQL, SAP, and Exchange systems. Your responsibilities will also include generating regular reports for management to facilitate cost recovery, capacity planning, and consolidation efforts. You will be involved in media rotation planning, management, and offsite movement scheduling for new backups as well as modifying existing jobs. Monitoring, troubleshooting backup failures, and installing backup monitoring and reporting tools will be part of your daily tasks. A strong understanding of TCP/IP and SAN technologies is essential for this role. Experience in CommVault upgrades, Service Pack, and Hotfix deployment will be beneficial in ensuring the smooth operation of backup and restore processes.
