UI UX Designer Along with Drupal and PHP

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:- • Providing Expert guidance on creating design systems using atomic design methodology in Patternlab. Including but not limited to: • Determining the categorization system for patterns in Patternlab (atoms, molecules, organisms, templates, pages; or similar), including: - Breaking the UI elements down to the most granular level - Sorting UI elements using the categorization system defined - Determining an order in which to design pattern. • Contribute to the requirements gathering and analysis process, including designing and running activities for stakeholder workshops. • Translate ideas and concepts into tangible artefacts such as schematics, user journeys, wireframes, mockups and prototypes. • Support product development by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and testing experiences for digital products. • Analyse client inputs e.g. usage data to extract insights about user behaviour and define metrics and benchmarks. • Plan, conduct and extract actionable insights from user research and user testing. • Identify design problems and make recommendations for addressing them. • Collaborate and communicate with colleagues and clients both in-person and remotely. • Champion user-centric design to colleagues, clients and the wider publishing community. Skills- • Expert knowledge of creating design systems using atomic design methodology in Patternlab. • Experience in designing solutions for complex digital systems. • Expert knowledge of Twig template engine. • Proficiency with industry standard diagramming and wireframing tools e.g. OmniGraffle, Axure, Illustrator. • Experience in planning and facilitating user research activities, including user testing. • Experience with using industry standard analytics tools e.g. Google Analytics, HotJar. • Ability to work with colleagues and clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet the clients needs and vision. • Ability to synthesize abstract ideas into concrete design implications. • Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions. • Ability to iterate designs and solutions, and work within given constraints. Knowledge- • Expert knowledge of Patternlab and atomic design methodology • Knowledge of integrating Patternlab design systems with Drupal • Solid grasp of user-centered design principles and best practices, including a clear understanding of the importance of design thinking. • Good understanding of software design principles, methodologies (e.g. agile, waterfall) and the software development lifecycle. • Working knowledge of responsive design principles. • Strong working knowledge of accessibility standards. • Familiar with basic web technologies e.g. HTML, CSS, XML. Attributes- • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision and direction. • Able to work on both large and small scale projects. • Comfortable juggling several projects or tasks simultaneously. • Open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism. • A calm head, with a diplomatic and realistic approach to problem solving. • Keeps informed on current developments in UX and is active in the UX community.
