Measure dimensions of components and tools using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and Vision Measurement System (VMS) to ensure they meet specifications. Conduct visual inspections for surface defects, wear, and other imperfections. Maintain accurate records of inspections, including detailed reports of findings and measurements. Ensure all products comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., AMS/ASTM/IS, etc.), customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. Continuously monitor the manufacturing process to detect and address deviations from quality standards promptly. Detect and document any defects or non-conformities, initiating corrective actions promptly. Recommend and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to address identified defects or non-conformances. Prepare and submit inspection reports and relevant documents to customers in a timely manner, facilitating transparency and compliance. Collaborate closely with production teams, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement. Assist in training production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and the proper use of inspection tools and equipment. Ensure all inspection tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures to uphold a safe working environment for all. Requirements: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation accurately. Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards. Strong analytical abilities to assess tool performance and troubleshoot issues effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and customer liaison. Demonstrated capability to identify and address problems related to tool assembly and quality assurance. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to shared goals. Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and exceeding customer expectations. Experience in tool assembly, quality inspection, or related roles preferred. Job Overview TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements. Role Objective Qualified Tool Designer-with requisite CAD, design, drafting skillsets, specialized in progressive die design. Responsibilities Analyze engineering drawings, preparation of strip layout, concepts and progressive die design for high-speed stamping. Managing the day-to-day activities of the team & motivating the team to achieve organizational goals. Delegating tasks to team members. Developing and implementing a timeline to achieve targets. Conducting training for team members to maximize their potential. Perform engineering calculations as related to tool designs. Produces working drawings, detail drawings and bills of materials. (Creo & ZWCAD). Work in 2D and 3D drafting platforms. Detail and create model/ drawings and reference documents from Sketches or verbal instructions. Responsible for communicating time estimates and resource requirements on design tasks.Interaction with CFT for reviews, trials, evaluation of component / tooling elements. Conversant with drafting standards, GPS / GD&T systems Ability to work with global team and communicate effectively.Strong die / mold design concepts with thorough knowledge of manufacturing and assembly.Attention to detail, self-driven, result oriented. 4-5 years of relevant design experience in precision progressive dies for automotive parts. Education and Knowledge BE / B-tech in Mechanical Engineering (with tooling background) Post Diploma in Tool design (NTTF /GTTC/CIPET). Knowledge on Tool material, material specifications, heat treatment and its processes. Tool building, Tool assembly, measurement, testing and tool room processes. ISO/TS requirement. Critical Experience 6-8 years of experience in various engineering field related to connector terminal high speed stamping design, product, and process development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations and public speaking. Working knowledge on MS Office tool. (MS Excel, Word & Power point). Automation / Molding design will be an added advantage

Job Description Job Title: Die Maker Zinc HPDC Division/Company/Entity: ASSA ABLOY ( SMI ) Location: Jamnagar Department: Tool Room Reports to: Manager Tool Room Region of reports: Jamnagar Position Summary This position will be responsible for Zinc HPDC tool manufacturing and maintenance. Closely work with Product design, Tool Room, Development and production team to meet the timelines. Closely work with internal and external key stakeholders, tools, and fixture suppliers on technical support for their activities . Roles and Responsibilities: Manufacture new Zinc HPDC dies with tool manufacturing standards. Preventive maintenance of Zinc HPDC tools. Ensure all stock items, tool inserts and spares are made available as per requirement to meet production timelines. Support Production and Engineering by providing toolings, technical solutions and ensure smooth production and subsequently improving OEE. Revisit, Modify and revise existing tool design to meet heightened customer expectations. Proactively participate in VAVE exercise and provide support as required. Coordinate with production and quality team. Adopt and implement modern Tool manufacturing technology to enhance tool and fixture performance. Skills & Abilities Required: Knowledge of manufacturing Zinc HPDC tools. Sound knowledge of Zinc HPDC slider type tool assembly. Hand on experience on operating all toolroom machines (Grinder, Milling, Lathe, Spark EDM, Drill etc.) Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensions and Tolerances.
