Job Summary: The Instrumentation Technician supports engineering and validation activities by performing routine tests, calibrations, set-ups, and mechanical/electrical installations for engine and system testing. The role involves using specialized tools and software to install, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation and data acquisition systems, while ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with test standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine and repetitive test set-ups, calibrations, and measurements in alignment with established protocols. Install terminals and fabricate test cells, harnesses, fixtures, and electronic systems. Construct, install, and calibrate test rigs including gauges, sensors, smoke meters, heat exchangers, and fuel/oil systems. Complete minor mechanical assemblies as required for test set-ups. Operate basic data acquisition systems and use measurement tools such as multimeters, soldering irons, function generators, and frequency generators. Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and execute written test plans. Record and report test data clearly and accurately according to defined formats. Interface with engineers, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to execute test plans and resolve issues. Participate in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives. Support self and team audits, including the implementation of corrective actions. Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures rigorously during all activities. Perform other related duties as assigned to meet project and team goals. Data Reporting: Accurately documents methods, settings, and test results to inform engineering analysis. Test Article Build & Setup: Assembles test articles and installs instrumentation according to plan and safety standards. Product Function Test System Design: Selects, integrates, and evaluates test equipment and controls. Communicates Effectively: Delivers information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Decision Quality & Drives Results: Makes timely decisions and consistently delivers on objectives. Manages Complexity: Analyzes conflicting information and navigates problem-solving with technical accuracy. Health and Safety Fundamentals: Acts as a champion for workplace safety and compliance. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Understands and interprets tool/machine data for proactive maintenance. Values Differences: Appreciates diversity and builds inclusive team dynamics. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or certificate of secondary education is required. An associate degree or technical diploma in a STEM field is preferred. Regionally applicable certifications may be required. Licensing: This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Minimum of 13 years of relevant experience in instrumentation, engine testing, or product validation. Intermediate-level knowledge obtained through technical training or on-the-job experience in a related field. Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position Skills: Working knowledge of engine instrumentation systems and test parameters setup. Familiarity with test cell software platforms (e.g., PUMA, Cylix, Indicium). Experience with ECM test cell harness wiring and engine ECM software (e.g., Cal term, ASAM, License Configuration Tool). Troubleshooting skills related to ECM fault codes and sensor systems. Ability to install engines and update spec files in alignment with test plans. Competent with mechanical rigging , test article preparation, and system wiring. Skilled in using measurement instruments and data logging systems.

Role Description TE Connectivity is setting up a new state of the art world class at Bangalore, India to support Aerospace, Defense and Marine (ADM) business unit. As part of the team, incumbent Manager will be responsible to lead and manage operations and a team of engineers and technicians associated with testing Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical products that TE offers under ADM Business Unit. As a member of our Aerospace, Defense, and Marine (AD&M) Test Lab the Test Engineer will review assigned test programs and recommend testing strategies to ensure TE products meet customer performance and reliability needs, perform electrical and mechanical testing on TE products, and write detailed test procedures and reports to support the test lab and its customers, following good engineering practices and ensuring the integrity of the business is maintained by following all applicable policies and procedures. The position will report to the Manager, Test Engineering, for the Aerospace, Defense and Marine business unit. Responsibilities: The Test Engineer will review assigned test requests and recommend testing strategies to ensure TE products meet customer performance and reliability needs while maximizing laboratory resource efficiencies. Understand test request and establish work requirements including instrumentation, test sequence, test programming and fixture requirements as needed. Perform electrical and mechanical testing on TE products per test procedures . Write detailed test procedures and test reports as needed to support the test lab and its customers in performing testing. Recommend testing protocols to address specific customer needs Collaborate with other lab engineers on interdisciplinary teams to plan and conduct complex test programs. Collaborate with other lab engineers on interdisciplinary teams to design and prepare test systems for unusual tests. Assist in identification of new or replacement test equipment for purchase . Work with test system engineers to determine strategies to meet present and future test requirements. Negotiate test plans with internal and external customers. Review active test programs and final test results to ensure that performance and reliability requirements are met . Maintain the integrity of test results by complying with corporate, business unit and local quality system requirements. May oversee the work of test technicians. Coordinates and follows up on testing performed by test technicians. Ensure all safety requirements are met. Ensure good engineering practices are followed. Perform estimates of labor and materials required for testing, including project test scheduling. Capable of working to drawings, diagrams, and schematics. Must be capable of multitasking and taking full ownership of assigned projects. Participate and/or lead employee continuous improvement teams as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management. This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls. Skill Set and Profile: Hands-on demonstrated experience in selecting sensors, technically evaluate, designing and operate instrumentation setup, test programming in tools like National Instruments LabView etc. Experience in electrical & mechanical design consideration for electrical and electromechanical product development in aerospace/defense / marine domain. Hands-on experience to document and deploying quality management systems i.e. AS9100D etc. Experience in understanding top level functional requirement of a product and designing the components/subsystems to test for Product Performance criteria. Hands-on experience for tearing apart assemblies / sub-assemblies of electromechanical parts Capable of Handling Multiple Projects simultaneously. Good Conceptual, problem solving and Analytical Skills. Should be Self-Motivated, Adaptive, Passionate about results and a Good Team Player Strong Interpersonal & stake holder management skill Strong Technical Aptitude with Willingness to explore & learn new Technologies for test instrumentation. Demonstrated Experience of working in a fast paced and changing environment with tight deadlines Knowledge of six sigma tools will be an added advantage. Knowledge of Global Certifications and Regulatory Standards (UL, IEC, MIL etc.) is an advantage Willingness to Travel for project requirements as required Qualification & Experience: B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering 12+ years of hands experience in Test Instrumentation in test labs. Aerospace Lab experience is an added advantage. Experience with Product Testing in line to MIL specifications is desired.
