The Observability team at Dun & Bradstreet is looking for observability engineers to develop monitors and validate the health of applications. As an observability engineer, you will be responsible for creating synthetic monitors to ensure the health of web sites and web services, setting up Splunk alerts to monitor application data, configuring Splunk Observability detectors for infrastructure metrics, and more. Your primary task will be to fulfill requests from development teams through tickets and collaborate closely with developers to understand their needs and develop monitors accordingly. You will adhere to standards to ensure that alerts are displayed on company dashboards, create ServiceNow incidents, and trigger necessary notification systems. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing observability tools to improve their capability and coverage over time. Your responsibilities will include: - Creating and testing synthetic monitoring scripts for web sites and web services - Developing Splunk dashboards and alerts using Splunk queries (SPL) - Supporting and troubleshooting the observability ecosystem and its integrations - Collaborating with developers to gather requirements and develop monitors - Participating in review sessions to ensure applications meet observability standards Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of monitoring/observability experience with tools like Splunk, DynaTrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, etc. - Understanding of HTML/CSS and HTTP communications - Proficiency in JavaScript Desired Skills: - Proficiency in Splunk SPL - Experience with Splunk products like Enterprise/Cloud, Rigor, Observability, ITSI - Experience with synthetic monitoring platforms like Selenium, WebDriver, JMeter, AppDynamics, New Relic, etc. - Proficiency in Python and other languages - Experience with Terraform - Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS If you are passionate about observability, monitoring, and collaborating with developers to enhance application performance, this role is a great opportunity for you to contribute to the success of Dun & Bradstreet's Observability team.,
