Aufgaben

Role: Engineering Change Management – Pre Screening Engineer (with knowledge about MB internal systems)

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Change Pre-Screening: Conduct preliminary assessments of proposed engineering changes to evaluate their impact on logistics processes and ensure relevance prior to implementation.
  • Project Execution: Support and deliver assigned tasks in alignment with project requirements and inputs received from PROMAS, ACM, and related stakeholders.
  • Impact Evaluation & Result Delivery: Ensure accurate analysis, evaluation, and timely delivery of results related to engineering change assessments.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain systematic tracking and documentation of all evaluated engineering changes on a weekly basis, and compile comprehensive monthly reports for management review.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to all relevant corporate policies, guidelines, and standards as defined by Mercedes-Benz AG, as well as local regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of quality and accuracy in all deliverables, with a strong emphasis on timely completion.
  • Continuous Self-Development: Actively pursue personal development goals, including proficiency in the German language and enhancement of soft skills relevant to the role.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage in collaborative activities across functions and departments to foster co-creation and support integrated change management processes.

Skills required:

A) Core Technical & Functional Skills :

  • Understanding of Engineering Change Process
    • Familiarity with ECN (Engineering Change Notice), ECR (Engineering Change Request), and BOM (Bill of Materials) structures.
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications from a supply/logistics perspective.
  • Supply Chain Planning & Operations (Preferred)
    • Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory management.
  • Logistics & Distribution Knowledge (Preferred)
    • Understanding of how changes affect warehousing, transport, and delivery timelines.
    • Ability to model logistics impact (e.g., packaging, route planning, container load optimization).
  • Cost Impact Analysis
    • Skill in evaluating change-related costs: tooling, rework, obsolescence, logistics, or special freight.
    • Conducting cost-benefit analysis to support go/no-go decisions.

Qualifikationen

B) Tool & Process Familiarity :

  • Knowledge & Hands-on experience with Dialog system
  • Knowledge with ACM & PROMAS ( Preferred )
  • Knowledge with NX ( Preferred )

C) Soft Skills required:

  • Attention to Detail - Engineering changes often have subtle yet wide-ranging impacts.
  • Problem-Solving - Quick thinking when mitigating supply or logistics disruptions due to changes.
  • Project Management - Managing timelines, dependencies, and execution of engineering changes in supply processes.
  • Documentation & Compliance - Maintaining change logs, audit trails, and ensuring regulatory and customer compliance
  • German Language (preferred)
  • Proactive approach towards taking responsibilities
