This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1300000 - Rs 2400000 (ie INR 13-24 LPA) Min Experience: 14 years Location: Ahmedabad JobType :full-time Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech) Requirements Primary Responsibilities: Interpret and internalize project requirements related to pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, platforms, ladders, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) equipment such as flash tanks, heat exchangers, and falling film evaporators (FFE). Provide timely inputs to the Lead Mechanical Engineer regarding design schedules and progress updates. Perform mechanical calculations for vessels and tanks, including: Functional design calculations (e.g., resin expansion, internals sizing) Code compliance calculations as per ASME Section VIII Div.1 / Div.2 (vessel strength, nozzle sizing, etc.) Conduct structural evaluations for wind and seismic loads, and determine allowable nozzle loads for all relevant equipment. Carry out fatigue assessments in accordance with project specifications; coordinate with third-party FEA consultants when required, and provide necessary system data such as pressure and temperature cycles. Review and validate design outputs from draftsmen and designers to ensure alignment with project and code requirements. Ensure that all platform and ladder designs are compliant with OSHA and relevant safety standards. Oversee material selection to ensure technical compatibility with operating conditions and project specifications. Participate in internal coordination and cross-functional review meetings, ensuring alignment with piping, instrumentation, and project teams (e.g., confirming nozzle orientations). Address vendor queries regarding vessels, tanks, and structural elements by liaising with the Lead Mechanical Engineer. Attend customer meetings to present and clarify design aspects related to pressure vessels, tanks, and structural components. Prepare and upload material requisitions into SAP and maintain documentation as per internal protocols. Evaluate vendor technical proposals to ensure compliance with the project's technical specifications. Develop datasheets, specifications, and technical documentation for all relevant equipment. Supervise and mentor junior team members, ensuring adherence to design standards and timely project delivery. Required Skills: In-depth knowledge of pressure vessel design and ASME Section VIII Div.1 / Div.2 Experience with ZLD equipment, including FFE, flash tanks, and heat exchangers Proficiency in design and analysis tools such as PV Elite, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks Familiarity with structural design and relevant standards (ASME, ISO, OSHA) Strong technical review, team coordination, and vendor communication skills
