Station master

Key Responsibilities:

 Must at all times be completely familiar with the General Rules and any other procedures, rules, policies and standards that relate to the safe and efficient stations operation.

 Takes operational instruction from Chief OCC or Mainline Controller.

 Manage all aspects of the day to day operations of the Station.

 Monitor the flow of traffic and assisting passengers if required to and from the train.

 Ensures that relevant operational information is disseminated to passengers in station in a timely manner.

 Respond to customers in a timely and courteous manner when contacted via the Help Points or when approached in person.

 Ensures that all reports are sent daily within the required time frame to the Operations Manager via the Station Supervisor.

 Opens and closes the station in accordance with procedures.

 Checks the attendance, directs and manages all station staff.

 Ensures that the passengers are able to move quickly through the concourse areas including platforms, staircases, and escalators by monitoring the flow of traffic and assisting passengers if required.

 Be completely familiar with the GR, Conditions of RST, Operational regulations and any other procedures, rules, policies and standards that relate to the efficient operation of the station and network.

 In an emergency, the incident station’s Station Master will assume the role of the OIC.

 Manages the station defect reporting process using the Material Management System and advising the appropriate technical department of defects and repairs required
