As the Vice President of Electrolyser Stack Engineering, you will be leading the India-based engineering organization responsible for the development, scaling, and performance optimization of PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyser stacks. Your role will involve strategic leadership, technical oversight, and collaboration with global functions to align product roadmaps and quality improvements with business objectives. You will lead a large, multi-layered engineering organization, including multiple leaders of teams and functions. It will be your responsibility to shape and drive the long-term strategy for PEM electrolyzer stack development and integration with manufacturing and commercial teams. Additionally, you will collaborate across global functions to influence company-wide technical and policy decisions as a member of the broader executive engineering leadership team. Your technical responsibilities will include directing the design, development, and manufacturing transfer of PEM electrolyzer stacks. You will oversee technical validation activities, lead the design and construction of prototype stacks, guide modeling and simulation efforts, and ensure the technical interface with supply chain, operations, and NPI teams to ensure scalability and manufacturability. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 15-20 years of engineering experience, with proven success in leading large, complex engineering organizations within high-tech manufacturing, electrochemical systems, or energy. You should also have a recognized industry expertise in electrochemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields, with a strong grasp of PEM systems and electrochemical cell technologies. Experience with lithium battery technologies or electrochemical stack architecture is highly preferred. Having exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and organizational development skills is crucial for this role. You should also possess a global mindset and the ability to lead across cultures and time zones. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a track record of cross-functional collaboration and policy influence, will be essential for fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and leadership development within the engineering function. Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, as well as experience in commercial product development and scaling of advanced energy systems. Exposure to large-scale product industrialization and hands-on experience in simulation and modeling tools for electrochemical systems will be advantageous.
