Job Description

We are seeking an experienced System and Network Security and Infrastructure Administrator to maintain and enhance the companys IT infrastructure and ensure its security. The role involves managing, monitoring, and securing servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of system administration, network security, and infrastructure management, with a focus on ensuring the availability, security, and performance of the IT environment. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry security standards and best practices. Key Responsibilities: System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows, Linux, etc.) and virtual environments. Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades. Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other essential services. Manage storage systems (SAN, NAS) and ensure backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity. Optimize system performance, monitoring logs and identifying potential issues. Network Administration: Manage and configure network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Monitor and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, ensuring network availability and performance. Implement and manage VLANs, VPNs, and QoS to optimize network traffic. Ensure robust network performance through real-time monitoring and incident resolution. Security Administration: Develop, implement, and enforce security policies to protect systems, data, and networks from unauthorized access. Configure and maintain security appliances such as firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, and anti-malware systems. Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate risks. Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) systems, ensuring role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege principles. Oversee and maintain data encryption, endpoint protection, and secure remote access solutions. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design and implementation of infrastructure, ensuring scalability, redundancy, and high availability. Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring infrastructure resilience. Monitor and manage capacity planning for infrastructure resources, ensuring scalability and optimized performance. Incident Management and Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to system, network, or security incidents, ensuring rapid resolution to minimize downtime. Investigate and respond to security breaches or incidents, coordinating with incident response teams and third-party vendors when necessary. Maintain detailed documentation on infrastructure configurations, network diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures. Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations, such as ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc. Implement governance frameworks and security controls to meet both internal and external audit requirements. Document and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures for the organization. Automation and Monitoring: Implement infrastructure and security monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, Zabbix, Splunk) to ensure real-time visibility into system performance and security threats. Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. Set up proactive alerts and ensure automated backups and system recovery procedures are in place. Required Qualifications: Experience: 10 years of experience in system, network, and security administration. Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Technical Skills: System Administration: Strong experience with Windows and Linux server environments. Proficiency in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, group policies, and system backup solutions. Virtualization experience (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and knowledge of storage systems (SAN, NAS) Network Administration: Hands-on experience with network design, configuration, and administration (LAN, WAN, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless networks). Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, SNMP, QoS). Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, NetFlow) Security Administrator Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPN management. Knowledge of encryption technologies, endpoint protection, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions. Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and implementing security patches and fixes. Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPAA). Cloud and Infrastructure Management: Experience managing cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Strong understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Hands-on experience with disaster recovery, high availability, and fault tolerance techniques. Automation and Scripting: Strong knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python. Experience automating security tasks, server provisioning, and infrastructure monitoring. Monitoring and Incident Response: Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Splunk) to ensure infrastructure and security visibility. Ability to respond quickly to system outages and security incidents, coordinating with relevant teams to resolve issues. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Proactive approach to infrastructure management and security. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certification. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate. Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP). Experience with DevOps practices and tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins) is a plus. Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security operations in heavily regulated industries (finance, healthcare, etc.).
