YOUR IMPACT
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Senior Database Developer
with extensive experience managing diverse database environments, including Oracle, PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in database administration, customer interaction skills, and hands-on experience collaborating with Research and Development (R&D) teams.
What The Role Offers
- Work closely with R&D teams to understand project requirements and provide database support for experimental and research initiatives, integrating AWS services seamlessly
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external customers
- Collaborate with customers to understand their diverse database requirements and provide effective solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for addressing database-related issues and inquiries.
- Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner
- Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks
- Conduct regular performance tuning activities to enhance overall database and cloud infrastructure efficiency
- Collaborate with AWS resources and teams to implement best practices and optimize cloud infrastructure for database workloads
- Ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available DB solutions
- Create and update documentation to reflect changes in database and AWS environments
- Maintain a current understanding of industry and technology trends.
- Be part of organization-wide initiatives and drive the change
What You Need To Succeed
- Minimum BE CS or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of proven experience as a Database Developer with expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL and AWS.
- Strong DB Performance tuning skills - Query level, DB tuning & Memory level tuning
- Experience in PL/SQL scripts and optimise SQL queries
- Strong understanding of database and cloud architecture, design, and best practices.
- Previous collaboration with R&D teams in an experimental and research-oriented environment
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty) are highly desirable
- Knowledge of high availability features of Oracle DB & Oracle RAC is an advantage
- Experience on DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform etc. is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Experience working directly with customers to gather requirements and address concerns
Willingness to learn
- Orchestration / automation / IAC tools (Ex Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation etc)
- Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Deploying code using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, within change management procedures
