Job Title: SQL Database Administrator Location: Noida Job Type: Full-time | Permanent | Reporting To: IT Manager/Supervisor Department: IT Experience Required: 5+ years Work Schedule: 24x7 support coverage (rotation-based or on-call) Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled SQL Database Administrator to manage and maintain mission-critical SQL Server databases across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database performance, security, backups, and availability, ensuring smooth operations for all business applications. Key Responsibilities: Administer, monitor, and support SQL Server environments (SQL 2016/2019/2020). Ensure high availability using SQL Always On Availability Groups and other HA solutions. Perform regular database maintenance, including patches, upgrades, backups, and performance tuning. Design and implement database solutions that align with business requirements and IT standards. Manage deployments and changes for code and ETL processes following the change control process. Troubleshoot issues and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurrence. Create and maintain technical documentation for database architecture and procedures. Collaborate with business users to understand needs and deliver database solutions accordingly. Provide support for SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI environments. Monitor system capacity and plan for future growth. Ensure database security policies are followed. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL DBA in a 24x7 production environment. Strong experience with: Backup/recovery strategies and tools. Performance tuning and optimization. SQL scripting and automation. SSIS, SSRS, Power BI support. SQL Server on Windows. Experience with database tools such as Spotlight and SolarWinds. Knowledge of managing SQL Server on virtualized environments, especially Azure (minimum 1 year). Solid understanding of database security practices and compliance. Familiarity with SDLC processes (preferred). Key Competencies: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
