We are seeking a skilled Sound and Light Technician to oversee and manage all sound, lighting, and AV systems at our barcade and restaurant venue. The ideal candidate will possess experience in setting up, operating, and maintaining professional audio and lighting systems for various live shows, DJ nights, themed events, and performances. Responsibilities include setting up and operating lighting, soundboards, microphones, projectors, speakers, and other AV equipment. Collaboration with event managers, DJs, performers, and chefs for theme-based AV coordination is crucial. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring equipment during live events, troubleshooting issues in real-time, and ensuring that all equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition. Regular checks on wiring, lighting, and sound systems for functionality and safety are required. Supporting rehearsals, coordinating with performers for sound/light cues, managing inventory of AV equipment, and staying updated with the latest AV technologies for recommending improvements are also key responsibilities. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sound & Light Technician in a hospitality or event-based setting. Proficiency in professional audio mixers, lighting consoles (DMX), amplifiers, microphones, and speakers, as well as the ability to manage indoor and outdoor setups, are essential. A good understanding of event acoustics and lighting design, willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings, and physical fitness for equipment setup and dismantling are required. A technical diploma or certification in sound engineering, lighting, or a related field is preferred. Desired skills include basic electrical knowledge for AV troubleshooting, familiarity with software-based lighting/audio control such as QLab, Ableton, Lightkey, etc., creativity in mood lighting, ambient sound control, and enhancing event atmospheres, as well as strong communication and teamwork abilities.
