BU: EDRC - Renewables IC Job Role: Lead - Competency Development & Training Location: Chennai Reports to (Job - Role) : Head Engineering: Power System, R&D and Competency Development Reportee (Job - Role) : Trainers - Electrical and Civil Engg Minimum Qualification : B. E./B. Tech in EEE / M.E. /MTech Experience :15 - 20 years, (Experience Shall be Substation Engineering & Design (AIS & GIS) up to EHV level. Exposure to International Projects is essential. Knowledge & Experience on Renewable PV Power Plant Engineering & Desing (Grid Scale) is preferable one Objective / Purpose The Candidate shall Lead the Competency Development of Engineering & Design Personnel. He shall establish Benchmark competency against the respective role and assess the current competency of each staff member personnel and identification of Gaps. Thereby he shall prioritize and impart the Training to address the competency Gaps. Key Responsibilities : He shall network with Head of Engineering BU and thereby: Establish benchmark competency of each role. Assess the competency of Each Staff-member respective team through a systematic Process. Identify the Competency Gap and prioritize the Training in consultation with Head of Engg. He shall network and develop Training Modules to train the staff-members on technical Subjects, where competency needs to be improved. He shall also network and develop Training Modules for developing the leadership skills of Engineering personnel in collaboration with the Internal and External Stakeholders. The programs as below: Induction Program - Project Engineering Managers Induction Program - Lead Engineers He shall also network and develop Training Modules for developing the Freshers in the field of Engineering and Design. The programs such as: PGET / GET Training program DET Training program ITI Training Program He shall have Domain expertise in the following areas: Substation Engineering and Design up to EHV (400kV and 765kV) covering layout engineering, associated Calculation, development of Specification, AIS, GIS and Hybrid Switchgears Through knowledge and experience in Vendor Equipment like Transformer, Reactor, EHV GIS, MV SW.GR, LV SW.GR, EHV Cables, Protection and Control System. Knowledge on equipment like STATCOM, PV Inverters, BESS Knowledge on handling the Software is CYMCAP, CDEGS, CYMGRD etc. He shall have through exposure in IEEE/ BSEN / IEC Standards. He shall have knowledge on Solar PV Power Plant Engineering and Design. Operating Network : Internally: Head of Engineering (BU), HR Manger, IPM Training centres, External: CBIP / CIGRE / OEMs On Time Delivery Flair for Innovation. Hands on experience in Detail Design Engineering of utility scale ground mounted Solar PV plant. Hands on experience of Solar PV DC side engineering. In depth knowledge of energy yield estimation. In depth knowledge of PV module technologies, system loss parameters, PV module loss parameters. Hands on experience in preparation of detailed PV array layout including all project facilities. Hands on experience of Shadow analysis in software. Hand on experience in preparation of DC SLD, DC Solar cable sizing calculation, String sizing calculation, Power loss calculations, DC design basis preparation. Hands on experience in preparation of DC field earthing calculation, lightning protection calculation. Hands on experience in preparation of layouts like DC field earthing layout, Lightning protection layout, String cable routing layout, SMB grouping layout, WMS layout, Robotic cleaning layout, PV area communication cable layout. Hands on experience in preparation of Technical specification of electrical equipment/systems like: PV Module, DC combiner box, Inverters, DC Solar Cables, PV connectors, Weather monitoring stations, Tracker system, Robotic cleaning system etc. Hands on experience of Solar AC side engineering like PV AC collection SLD, MV SLD, HV SLD, Electrical control building equipment layout, Inverter station equipment layout, Cable sizing calculations, Cable routing layout, grounding and lightning protection design etc., will be added advantage. Hand on experience in preparation of DC string cable schedule and interconnection. Proficiency in review of vendor documents. Well versed in national and international codes and standards like IS, IEC, IEEE, CEA, CBIP etc. Software skill:, PVsyst, AutoCAD, MS office, PV CASE Ability to prioritize and deliver project assignment within stipulated time.

Install and maintain solar power systems. Conduct site assessments and prepare installation plans. Troubleshoot and repair solar power equipment. Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with standards. Provide training and support to junior technicians. Stay updated with the latest solar power technologies and best practices. PVSyst and Advanced Excel for solar plant performance analysis, including monthly simulations and energy modeling. Skilled in stakeholder communication, SOP preparation, record-keeping, and contractual deliverable monitoring operational efficiency. Daily monitoring the functions of all electrical equipment's. All reports to be maintain as per site requirement. Subcontractor Management.
