Software Engineer – Backend & Smart TV Focus

Core Responsibilities

Software Engineering

• Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js and Next.js.
• Participate in architecture discussions to build maintainable, secure, and high-performance systems.
• Write clean, modular, and well-tested code aligned with team standards and product goals.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in TV app development, smart devices, and web technologies.

Backend & API Development

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs supporting web, mobile, and smart TV interfaces.
• Integrate and optimize data flows with SQL and NoSQL databases for low-latency experiences.
• Ensure backend systems are secure, fault-tolerant, and scalable.
• Work with DevOps to support deployments using Docker, and optionally Kubernetes.
• Handle integration with third-party APIs, SDKs, and hardware-level interfaces
• Support debugging and performance tuning across a variety of environments, including smart TVs and constrained devices.

Required Technical Skills

• Web Development: Proficient in Next.js, Node.js, and MongoDB.
• AI Integration: Strong interest and ability to leverage AI technologies to improve current and future product experiences.
• Backend Development: Experience with Java (8+) and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• API Design: Solid understanding of RESTful API design, development, and best practices.
• Databases: Experience working with both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Version Control: Proficient in Git and familiar with workflows like Git Flow or trunk-based development.
• CI/CD: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for building, deploying, and managing microservices.

Required Education & Experience

• Years of Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent real-world experience.
