Location

• Experience in Software Asset Management, to include licenses, contracts, software licensing agreements, software inventory management, supporting license usage, modelling, deployment, optimization and should have audit expertise across multiple software vendors.
• Experience in creating SAM governance forum to establish the required strategic direction for the SAM process within the organization and execute governance and strategic asset management function.
• Establishing SAM policy for guiding all activities of the SAM process within the organisation
• Creating processes for the deployment, optimisation and retirement of software to ensure that license advice is available for both ITIL aligned release management. This includes the identification and removal of unlicensed or underutilised software, the use/redeployment of existing licenses if available, retirement of software including removal of issued licenses, reformatting of equipment to base build, and if SAM input is required prior to purchase of software.
• Should have demonstrable and extensive experience of implementing SAM related to new services and has a good grasp of key challenges and how they may be overcome.
• Should be able to advise, and facilitate SAM-related budgeting, planning and resource allocation
• Perform regular reconciliations of what is installed against licenses owned and resolve any identified exceptions promptly.
• Proactively assess Software license compliance, perform audits from a compliance assurance measure and log results within Configuration management database (CMDB) to ensure license compliance accuracy and completion, SAM tool hardware/ software coverage, contract entitlement accuracy.
• Perform daily and long-term operational and strategic management of hardware and software
• Plan, monitor, and record hardware assets and/or software license to make sure they complied with vendor contracts in different software tools.
• Apply a continuous improvement approach to manage SAM activities in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending, as well as in tracking company assets within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) throughout their lifecycle.
• Should be able to recommend value based KPIs and key risk indicators (KRIs) with appropriate metrics to ensure the value of the SAM process can be established.
