Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Editing

  • Conceptualize, shoot, and professionally edit engaging video and image content

optimized for various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram Reels, YouTube

Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook).

  • Transform raw footage into polished, high-impact videos using industry-standard

editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, Adobe After Effects etc.)

  • Transform Raw Images into polished high impact Image creatives using Software

like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Canva etc.

  • Incorporate motion graphics, text overlays, music, sound effects, and visual

effects to enhance video quality and storytelling.

  • Stay updated on the latest video, audio and design graphic trends, formats, and

editing techniques specific to social media.

Collaboration with Academic Content Writer:

  • Work directly and closely with the academic content writer to understand

research, faculty achievements, academic programs, and institutional news.

  • Translate academic information and long-form content provided by the academic

content writer into visually compelling, concise, and shareable social media video

and graphic formats.

  • Participate in content planning sessions to identify video and photography

opportunities arising from academic initiatives.

Social Media Support:

  • Develop, schedule, and publish daily content across all assigned social media

channels, ensuring consistency in brand voice and messaging.

  • Monitor social media channels for trends, mentions, and opportunities for real-

time engagement.

  • Actively engage with our online community by responding to comments,

messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.

  • Proactively identify and participate in relevant conversations and trending topics

to increase brand visibility.

  • Manage and curate user-generated content where appropriate.

Brand Voice & Compliance:

  • Ensure all social media content and interactions align with brand guidelines, tone

of voice, and ethical standards.

  • Stay informed about social media platform policies and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of proven experience in a social media role with a strong emphasis on video content creation and editing; Photography.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your video editing skills for social media platforms is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively communicate academic subjects inan accessible, engaging way for social media.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator) is required.
  • Demonstrable understanding of current social media trends, platform algorithms, and best practices for engagement.
  • Fair understanding of design thinking is a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment, particularly with content writers.
  • Proactive, creative, and results-oriented with strong organizational skills.
