Site Engineer

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Site Engineer specializing in electrical works to oversee and manage all electrical aspects of our residential and commercial construction projects within the Mumbai region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of electrical systems according to project specifications, relevant codes, and timelines. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders on-site.

Responsibilities:

Site Supervision and Management:

• Supervise and monitor all electrical installation activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, drawings, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with electrical contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure quality of work.
• Manage and resolve any technical queries or challenges related to electrical installations on-site.

Technical Expertise and Execution:

• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications accurately.
• Ensure that all electrical works are carried out in compliance with relevant Indian standards (IS), National Electrical Code (NEC), and local regulations.
• Oversee the installation of various electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, earthing, wiring, cable laying, conduit systems, and low voltage systems (e.g., fire alarm, CCTV, access control).
• Ensure proper testing and commissioning of electrical installations are conducted according to standards.

Quality Assurance and Control:

• Implement and maintain quality control procedures for all electrical works.
• Verify the quality of materials delivered to the site and ensure they meet project specifications.
• Conduct quality checks on completed electrical installations and ensure compliance with standards.
• Prepare and maintain quality control documentation and reports.

Coordination and Communication:

• Liaise effectively with project managers, architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates on the progress of electrical works.
• Communicate any delays, discrepancies, or potential risks to the project manager promptly.
• Maintain clear and concise communication with all team members and stakeholders.

Safety Compliance:

• Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and procedures on-site related to electrical works.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure that all electrical work is carried out safely.
• Identify and address any potential safety hazards related to electrical installations.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of site activities, progress reports, and material usage.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports as required.
• Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and other project documentation related to electrical works.

Problem Solving:

• Identify and analyze electrical issues that arise on-site and propose effective solutions.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience as a Site Engineer handling electrical works for residential and/or commercial projects.
• Proven experience in managing electrical installations from inception to completion.
• Familiarity with relevant Indian electrical standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Experience working on projects within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region is highly preferred, with knowledge of local regulations and challenges.
