As the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Catastrophe Modelling & Exposure Management based in India, you will play a crucial strategic role within the company. Reporting directly to the EVP of Data & Analytics, you will be responsible for leading service delivery, driving capability growth, managing P&L, and spearheading digital transformation for the analytics business. Your primary responsibilities will include managing multi-service engagements encompassing catastrophe modelling, exposure management, data engineering, and analytics. You will oversee the delivery for one of the largest catastrophe teams supporting global insurance clients, ensuring consistent service standards and client satisfaction. Additionally, you will engage in governance discussions and strategic planning with clients to align on roadmaps, KPIs, and growth objectives. Collaboration with clients through workshops, conferences, and industry forums will be essential to explore innovation and transformation opportunities. In terms of operations leadership, you will define and implement the CAT and exposure analytics strategy to align with company growth and market trends. Promoting a culture of experimentation and hypothesis-driven solutions, you will establish centres of excellence for specific risk areas and expand analytics coverage to include underwriting, claims, and portfolio management. Developing efficient operating models and building capabilities for emerging risks will be key aspects of your role. You will take ownership of the P&L, overseeing end-to-end planning, execution, and profitability for the business. Tracking revenue, optimizing costs, and ensuring delivery excellence will be crucial elements in driving business success. Collaboration with technology and product teams to build scalable AI tools and IP assets will be essential for driving transformation and automation initiatives. As a leader, you will manage global teams and foster a culture of innovation and transformation. Mentoring senior leaders and influencing enterprise-wide strategy in capability building and operational excellence will be integral to your role. Talent development and knowledge management will involve establishing frameworks, recruiting and developing skilled teams, and creating internal training programs to enhance organizational capabilities. In terms of skills and experience, you should have over 18 years of experience leading global delivery, analytics, and technology teams in the P&C insurance industry. Proficiency in catastrophe modelling, exposure management, actuarial analytics, data engineering, and transformation is essential. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and customer relations skills are required to succeed in this role. A master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Financial Management, or a related field is required, with advanced degrees preferred. At least 15 years of experience in catastrophe modelling or exposure management roles is necessary, along with proficiency in modelling software such as RMS, AIR, or equivalents. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with a background in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.
