Senior Systems Administrator (System, Network, Infra, Cloud)

Job Summary:

• A highly skilled and results-driven Senior System Administrator with over 7 plus years of experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-level systems and infrastructure.
• Adept at troubleshooting complex system issues, managing cross- functional teams, and providing strategic solutions that improve system performance and reliability.
• Proficient in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure), virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyperconverged Infrastructure), and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet).
• Expertise in network management and system security.
• A strong communicator with a proven track record of large-scale projects and ensuring seamless integration of new technologies into existing environments.
• Known for a proactive approach in identifying opportunities for system improvements and cost reduction while maintaining high standards of system integrity and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Design & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain system architectures, including servers, networks, storage, and other hardware/software systems. Install and configure, Hypervisor, operating systems, software applications, and hardware.
• System Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize systems for efficiency and reliability. Ensure the scalability and availability of systems through regular checks and improvements.
• Maintenance & Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance on existing systems, including patch management, software updates, and hardware upgrades. Plan and execute system upgrades or migrations as necessary.
• Security Management: Implement and maintain security protocols to safeguard systems from internal and external threats. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Manage firewalls, access controls, and encryption protocols.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Ensure data integrity through backup solutions and disaster recovery plans. Regularly test recovery procedures to ensure minimal downtime during system failure.
• Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Investigate system issues and provide timely resolutions, minimizing downtime. Work with technical support teams and vendors to resolve complex system issues.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks (e.g., system backups, log analysis). Implement tools for system monitoring and management to streamline processes.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate system documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines. Generate reports on system health, incidents, and performance metrics.
• Collaboration & Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as developers, network engineers, and business teams to align systems with organizational needs. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users or other departments.
• Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure systems are compliant with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., ITIL, ISO, GDPR). Participate in regular audits and assessments for continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Experience in System Administration or related field.
• Operating Systems: Proficient in Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat), Windows Server, macOS, or Unix-based systems.
• Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, DevOps or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Networking: Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN), firewalls, and network security best practices.
• Virtualization: Strong experience with Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, and Kubernetes for containerization and virtualization management.
• Security and Compliance: Understanding of security protocols, encryption, access management, and security best practices.
• Configuration Management: Experience managing configurations and version control using Git, Ansible, or similar tools.
