Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at Zendesk Core Services Packaging and Consumption team, you will be a vital part of the team responsible for enhancing the Zendesk purchasing and usage reporting experience. Your role will involve collaborating with product management and engineers to design simple solutions for complex problems. From concept to deployment, you will ensure code quality, debug code, and seek guidance when needed to meet commitments. Your expertise in Ruby with a minimum of 4 years of experience, along with 3+ years of experience in JavaScript, React, and familiarity with JavaScript build infrastructure/tooling like Webpack and Node.js, will be crucial in this role. Additionally, your experience with databases such as MySQL and/or DynamoDB, CI/CD systems like Github Actions, Travis, Jenkins, and knowledge of API design and distributed systems will be highly beneficial. You will actively participate in code reviews, design discussions, and collaborate across teams to standardize and integrate services, libraries, tools, and workflows. Your customer-first mentality in service incident management, data analysis, and root-cause analysis, coupled with a hunger for learning new technologies, will be key assets in this role. Moreover, your team-first collaborative attitude and excellent communication skills will enable you to thrive in our fast-paced agile development environment. Bonus skills include experience working on SaaS-based products and familiarity with the AWS stack, particularly Aurora RDS. Please note that this role requires candidates to be physically located and work from Karnataka or Maharashtra.
