Senior Infrastructure Specialist VMware, VCenter, Kubernetes, Onpremises

As a Senior Infrastructure Specialist at our IT department, you will be responsible for leading and managing scalable infrastructure and container-based environments. Your focus will be on Kubernetes orchestration, automation, and ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of platform services. Your role will involve designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing hypervisor templates, scaling the Container Platform, administering Kubernetes clusters, and transitioning to a Kubernetes-based virtualization architecture. You will also work on platform automation, security hardening, compliance, and collaborating closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to drive container adoption and lifecycle management. To qualify for this role, you should have a minimum of 8 years of infrastructure engineering experience with deep expertise in Kubernetes, Linux systems administration, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code tools, CI/CD development, and virtualization technologies. Key skills required include Kubernetes, containerization, cloud-native infrastructure, Linux system engineering, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps & Automation Tools, and Security & Compliance in container platforms. Soft skills such as a proactive mindset, strong communication, analytical thinking, and time management are essential for success in this role. Preferred qualifications include CKA / CKAD Certification, cloud certifications, experience in container security and compliance tools, exposure to GitOps tools, and monitoring and alerting experience. Your success in this role will be measured based on the uptime and reliability of container platforms, reduction in manual tasks, successful Kubernetes migration, cluster performance, security compliance, and team enablement and automation adoption.
