Description
You are an experienced Firewall Engineer with 6 to 10 years of relevant experience, seeking to utilize your expertise in implementing, upgrading, and maintaining enterprise firewall solutions. You have hands-on experience with Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and cloud firewall technologies, and possess a strong understanding of enterprise security, networking, and scripting/automation. Your key responsibilities will include implementing and building firewall solutions from scratch, planning and executing firewall upgrades, updates, and migrations, installing, configuring, maintaining, and decommissioning Checkpoint and Fortinet firewalls, working with hardware appliances and virtual firewalls in hybrid cloud environments, configuring and managing firewall policies and controls via management servers, monitoring network activity and enforcing security policies and standards, troubleshooting network and firewall-related issues, analyzing network traffic, ensuring rule configuration aligns with security best practices, administering virtual private networks (VPNs), conducting regular software and security updates across firewall platforms, responding to security incidents and investigating potential breaches, participating in security audits, assessments, and compliance reviews, creating and maintaining detailed documentation for firewall configurations and policies, designing and implementing security solutions to secure enterprise networks, and providing mentorship to junior engineers and supporting their technical development. You must have strong hands-on experience with Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and cloud firewalls (AWS/Azure/GCP), a solid understanding of enterprise security architecture and advanced networking including routing, switching, load balancing, and routing protocols like BGP and OSPF. Moreover, familiarity with scripting/automation tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar, working knowledge of Linux operating systems and CLI, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to perform root cause analysis are essential. Preferred qualities include strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to support off-hours and weekend work as needed.,
