As a senior team member, you will also mentor junior developers, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
Job Description
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend engineers, to define and implement innovative solutions.
- Architect scalable, maintainable, and high-performance Android applications.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, debugging, and adherence to best practices.
- Optimize application performance, memory usage, and responsiveness for a variety of devices.
- Stay updated on the latest Android frameworks, tools, and industry trends to propose and implement improvements.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring compliance with company standards and best practices.
- Contribute to the documentation of technical designs, processes, and application features.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (master s degree preferred).
Experience:
- 8-12 years of professional experience in Android application development.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Java and Kotlin for Android development.
- Strong understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and Android architectural patterns (e. g. , MVVM, MVP).
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party libraries/frameworks.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e. g. , Git).
- Working knowledge in BLE, Telemetry with embedded devices
Problem-Solving:
- Excellent debugging and performance optimization skills.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team, and willingness to mentor and collaborate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin languages
- Hands-on experience with Micro EJ platform and tools.
- Experience with Android NDK and low-level programming.
- Knowledge of app security, encryption, and secure communication protocols.
- Familiarity with tools like Firebase, Google Play Console, and analytics platforms.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA or Trello.
- Knowledge of lightweight virtualization and optimization techniques for embedded devices.
- Experience with debugging tools and performance analysis for Android apps
